Luck had found us with a friendly phone call from local Rotarian Everett Green asking if we could shoot a group shot for his club. We gladly accepted and it was very nice to meet everyone. After talking for a bit we put everyone in a gigantic helicopter and flew to the top of the Cascades and got this shot on Wednesday April, 13th 2011 for the clubs 75th anniversary! Congratulations to the Cashmere Rotary Club!
Disclaimer: May have been photoshop and not a helicopter...
News came from the Leavenworth Ski Heritage Foundation that Craig Thorpe was coming over from the west-side to paint a rendering of our Ski Hill Lodge. I had seen a few of Craig's renderings of the train station, ice rink and the new downtown development so I knew his work was special. I was excited to help him capture the love that we in the valley have for this place. These are images that I took for Craig to help in his artistic representation of the lodge and ski hill. I have seen his rough draft and thought it was already excellent but he says many more hours of work are needed. It should nicely portray the ski hill's legacy of winter outdoor enjoyment and recreation in Leavenworth.
The Rockets are a tough, rough and tumble group of kids ages 6 and under. They were a ferocious opponent and were feared by all the other 5 and 6 year olds who played soccer in the Leavenworth Valley. This team could slice and dice the field into tiny little peices. They made plays that defied gravity and showed great spirit and sportsmanship. I am very lucky to have been able to coach such a special group of wonderful kids. Thanks for a great season you guys and can't wait to kick it with you again soon! Whoohooo Rockets! YEAH!
Lucas, quicker than quick.
Cal, faster than fast.
Mia, a scoring machine!
Becca, the power foot!
Jakob, charges the field!
We were lucky enough to visit the Moats Farm once again for the 4th of July family reunion. It can be super hot depending on the weather but this year temps were perfectly placed in the 70's-80's. We had fun in the sun and played vollyball, trampoline, 4 wheeling, swimming and the all important firework celebration! Here are a few images from some of the beautiful kids that make the Moats family reunion so special.
Our most excellent friends Joe, Cody and Riley came for a Summer visit while on a super duper road trip from Colorado. We decided to beat the heat and head to river the for some fun in the sun. Jaydn, Julie and Cal had a wonderful time hanging with their best friends from good ole Estes Park. It was so great to see you guys and we hope you have a most wonderful journey around the West Coast! Til next time!
