Steelhead Fishing the Wenatchee River

I followed good friend Russ Ricketts around while he was fishing for Steelhead on the Wenatchee River and was able to capture a few images of him in action. Steelhead are a prized catch. To me they seem quite special and I am impressed with their strength and power. They have to navigate 7 dams and hundreds of miles of river to finally end up here in their spawning grounds. I can see why they come home to this gorgeous valley though. Here are some images from October 21st 2010 which is prime time for catching these ocean going trout.
