Leavenworth Ski Hill Skirennen Citizens Race

The Leavenworth Ski Hill Skirennen Citizens Nordic race was held on Saturday, January 9th 2010 under overcast skies and over perfectly groomed trails. The race consists of 2k, 5k and 10k events held in both freestyle and expert categories. This is a mass start race where all competitors start together and are only allowed to pull hard on the ski poles until they reach a distance of approx 100 yards where they can then start skating.

Powerful, explosive, endurance, fitness and finesse are all words that come to mind after watching this event. It's an inspiring race where high energy and excitement fills the air.
